How are Sponsored Account Requests Processed?

When a request is submitted, it enters a workflow to permit a chain of approval in your Division. Each stop on that workflow requires approval from a designated individual. Approved Requests enter the Sponsored Account Administration Security workflow for completion via an email alert and a ticket generated in our ticketing portal. Denied Requests alert the sponsor via email.

Expiration of Sponsored Accounts

Sponsored accounts are authorized for a defined duration and must be established with an expected end date that can be no more than a year from today. A sponsored account will expire a year after the date of creation unless a shorter duration is requested. Reminder emails will go out in intervals starting 60 days before expiration. From there, the sponsor and submitter can request for an extension or deny the request by logging into https://sponsored.catholic.edu/admin.

When the sponsee leaves the University, has been hired through HR, is working with another department, and in the event that they require a change in sponsor due to your departure from the University, please inform us through techsupport@cua.edu. This will allow us to complete the account deprovisioning or sponsor transfer steps needed.

After submitting the form below

Your request will be sent to the Sponsor/Authorizing Official. You will be notified when the account has been approved by the division. At this time, Security has been alerted the account is approved, and a ticket will be generated through our ticketing system in the requestor’s name. Security will reach out if more information is required to process the request.

Please note: It takes a minimum of 72 business hours to process account creation requests AFTER they are received by Security. Request Submitters, please contact techsupport@cua.edu if your request does not generate a ticket in your name. View open tickets by logging into https://tickets.cua.edu.

Your request will be closed, and you will be notified when the account has been created/extended. At this time, you can log into https://tickets.cua.edu and navigate to your open ticket to view the account credentials created for new requests. Once the account has been provisioned, your ticket will be updated, and you and the account holder will be notified the account is available for password reset.

Please note: Only Sponsored Account users with ALL personal information fields entered are able to use the password reset self-service webpage at password.catholic.edu.

All sponsored account holders must schedule a Zoom session or come in person to the Service Desk to validate their identity with a technician using a valid, government issued photo ID. At this time, the end user will receive account credentials and be supported with password reset, using the self-service page or by administrative reset with a technician.
