Catholic University uses multi-factor authentication (MFA) to enhance the security of its systems. With multi-factor authentication, you use two of three "factors" to log into a University system:

  1. something you know (like a password or PIN), and
  2. something you have (like a smartphone), or
  3. something you are (like your fingerprint or face).

    The single most important thing you can do to help secure the University is to protect your own accounts. Please enable Google 2-Step Verification for your Cardinal Mail Google Workspace account now. Its use will become mandatory on January 5, 2022.

    Duo is a software tool provided by Duo Security, a cloud-based access security provider. Duo enables multi-factor authentication for other University services such as VPN, Cardinal Financials or Cardinal Faculty and Staff, as required.
