Custom Web-based Applications

CPIT is able to support a wide range of web-based, interactive software that can be used for academic, administrative, and research purposes.  Examples of the kind of software we have already developed include online survey tools, web registration systems, "mashups" utilizing Google Maps for off-campus housing, Campus Ministry database, issue tracking and management systems, and more.  If you have a research project that you think could be improved through the use of the Internet or web-based services, talk to us!

How much does custom software cost?
There is no dollar cost to you for custom software built in-house by CPIT.  However, the number and size of projects that we can undertake will be governed by the available staff.

Are there restrictions on the kind of software that can be developed?
One major restriction is the current expertise that we have on staff.  CPIT is understandably hesitant to implement solutions in technologies that we cannot support.  We also take software security and privacy very seriously.  All software involved in research that uses human subjects must further pass through the Institutional Review Board.
