Special Equipment

Sooner or later you will want to connect something to your PC, whether it be an external USB drive, your digital camera, or your PDA.  Most PC/Windows compatible devices will work with our hardware, but if you are having difficulty, we may be able to help.

What about computer peripherals?
CPIT will attempt to assist with the connection of local devices such as scanners, printers, and USB drives that you or your department provide.  It is always best to ask CPIT before purchasing new equipment; we may be able to give advice about which models will work best with your computer and our network.

Can I install a wireless router in my office?
Installing a wireless router may hinder network performacnce and is also a security risk for the university. CPIT can install a network hub to give you more network ports. Please submit a help desk request for assistance.
