CPIT Information Systems and Services (ISS) Responsibilities

To the Campus Community

 

Develop and implement enterprise-wide and department-level information systems and services to the campus community by employing the following practices: 

  • Provide software systems technology leadership and guidance.
  • Represent CPIT in appropriate forums. 
  • Identify information systems requirements through partnership with CUA faculty, students and staff, interaction with the higher education community and in-depth functional application knowledge.  
  • Perform detailed analysis of all collected information to ascertain systems input, process and output requirements.  Present the findings for approval and subsequent system implementation. 
  • Develop logical and physical design specifications derived from detailed analysis of all system requirements.
  • Creating, testing and implementing appropriate programs and system components to meet requirements and design specifications approved by system users.   
  • Insure data integrity and security access control in all systems and services. 
  • Identify and employing suitable procedures, practices and technology when appropriate. Establish and implement product, system and service standards.  
  • Manage and administrate software and server components for all ISS systems. 
  • Install and administrate enterprise and departmental database management systems (DBMS). 
  • Develop documentation and procedures for continuous systems operations and maintenance. 
  • Develop short and long ranging plans for deploying and managing information systems and services. 
  • Provide guidance and oversight to other offices and departments when developing their own systems.

To our CPIT Colleagues 

 

Develop effective relationships through collaborative efforts, regular communications using the following practices:

  •  Provide input to the yearly budget process. 
  •  Develop and implement systems and services to meet the internal information management needs.
  •  Developing and coordinating short and long range technology planning.
  •  Collect and maintain information for use with ISS web site.
  •  Participating in other department initiatives as requested.
  •  Educate staff on ISS systems, products and services.
  •  Share ideas, concepts and information to further the success of CPIT. 
  •  Developing communication and reporting mechanisms to insure clear understanding of issues. 
  •  Conduct meetings and presentations on ISS activities.
