Get Software

Software for Students

Adobe Software

Select Adobe software is available at prices discounted up to 85% through the Adobe Student Licensing program.

Other Software

Students may purchase software at reduced academic prices in the Campus Bookstore, located in the Edward J. Pryzbyla University Center.

Software for Faculty and Staff

Microsoft Software

One of the most frequently asked questions from members of the faculty and staff is "Can I get Microsoft Office to use from home?" The answer is Yes!

Because CUA participates in the Microsoft Campus Agreement through the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area, faculty and staff are allowed to order media (DVDs) for work-at-home use at highly discounted prices. Faculty/staff are only paying to lease the software. The software is fully licensed as long the university's Microsoft Campus Agreement is in place and you remain an eligible employee. The license provides that you may only order one of each program during the license year that starts Feb 1; you are, however, allowed to order one copy of a NEW revision or version upon its release. Windows upgrades require that a Windows operating system (OS) be previously installed on your computer. Please note that the license agreement with Microsoft does not include free access to phone help from Microsoft. If you leave the university, you must uninstall the software and destroy the media.

The software products presently available for faculty/staff purchase through this agreement are as follows.

  • Windows 7 Ultimate Edition Upgrade, 32-bit
  • Windows 7 Ultimate Edition Upgrade, 64-bit
  • Windows Vista Business Edition Upgrade. 32-bit
  • Office Enterprise 2007
  • SharePoint Designer
  • Office 2008 for MAC
  • Microsoft Visual Studio.NET 2008 Professional

The Work-at-Home use version of the Microsoft products listed above can be purchased on the Foundation for California Community Colleges website.

Adobe Software

Faculty and staff are able to take advantage of the Adobe Student Licensing program to purchase select Adobe products for their personal use at home.

Other software for Personal Use For Faculty and Staff

Through its affiliation with the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area, CUA faculty and staff may purchase Microsoft, Adobe/Macromedia, Autodesk and Quark boxed software products for their personal use at home through ComputerLand of Silicon Valley at substantial discounts.
