Software for Faculty and Staff Personally-Owned Computers
Microsoft Software
One of the most frequently asked questions from members of the faculty and staff is "Can I get Microsoft Office to use from home?" The answer is Yes!

Because CUA participates in the Microsoft Campus Agreement through the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area, faculty and staff are allowed to order media (DVDs) for work-at-home use at highly discounted prices. You may only order one of each product during the license year that starts Feb 1; you are, however, allowed to order one copy of a NEW revision or version upon its release. Windows upgrades require that a Windows operating system (OS) be previously installed on your computer. Please note that the Work at Home license agreement with Microsoft does not include free access to phone help from Microsoft.
There are additional, significant licensing conditions associated with the use of Work at Home software. Please review these restrictions carefully before purchasing the media. By purchasing the media, you signify your agreement to the licensing terms and conditions.
The software products presently available for faculty/staff purchase through this agreement are as follows.
- Windows 7 Ultimate Edition Upgrade, 32-bit
- Windows 7 Ultimate Edition Upgrade, 64-bit
- Office 2010 Professional Plus
- Visio Professional 2010
- Project Professional 2010
- Visual Studio Professional 2010
- Office for Mac 2011
The Work-at-Home use version of the Microsoft products listed above can be purchased on the Foundation for California Community Colleges website.
Adobe Software
Faculty and staff are able to take advantage of the Adobe Student Licensing program to purchase select Adobe products for their personal use at home.
Other software for Personal Use For Faculty and Staff
Through its affiliation with the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area, CUA faculty and staff may purchase Microsoft, Adobe/Macromedia, Autodesk and Quark boxed software products for their personal use at home through ComputerLand of Silicon Valley at substantial discounts.
