Connecting to a Network Folder Manually

Your student, faculty or staff network home directory folder ("M: drive") should map automatically when you log into a Windows computer on the campus network.

Occasionally, this mapping will fail, usually due to a configuration issue. In this event, you can map your M: drive manually by following these simple steps:

1. Open the My Computer icon on your desktop or open Windows Explorer by pressing the Windows key and the E key on your keyboard simultaneously.

2. Under the Tools menu, select Map Network Drive.

3. Select the letter M from the Drive dropdown box.

4. In the Folder box, type the following drive specification based on the type of user account that you have:

Faculty and Staff: type \\cuasentj\username$ where username is your CUA login name (the part of your CUA email address before the "@" sign).

Note new faculty/staff server name CUASENTJ.

Students: type \\cuasentj\students$\##\username where username is your CUA login (the part of your CUA email address before the "@" sign) and ## is the first two digits of your login.  For example, student "00smith" will type \\cuasentj\students$\00\00smith

5. Click the Finish button.  Normally you do not need to check the "Reconnect at logon" box, since the system should connect your M: drive automatically.

Note
.  If your M: drive repeatedly fails to map when you log onto a Microsoft Windows computer in your office or in a computer lab, please submit a service request at help.cua.edu.

From ResNet or from computers not located on the campus network, please use the My Files option on home.cua.edu to access files on your network folder as drive mappings to campus servers will not work from these locations.
