Sending E-mail from off-campus
using an E-mail program

To send e-mail from outside the CUA campus using an e-mail program such as Entourage, Eudora, Mail.app, Netscape, Outlook or Thunderbird, you must use the outgoing e-mail server belonging to your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

The CUA outgoing e-mail server can be used only while your computer is connected to the CUA network. Additionally, most ISP's prohibit the sending of e-mail through any outgoing server except their own.

To determine the correct e-mail settings for use with your ISP, please visit your ISP's web site support area. Look for topics such as:

  • "Setting Up Your E-mail Program"
  • "How do I setup [specific email program] for E-mail?"

Here are links to the web sites of several common Internet Service Providers.

Your ISP should provide detailed instructions on setting up your e-mail program to send e-mail through the ISP's outgoing mail servers.

As an alternative to configuring an e-mail program to access your CUA e-mail, you can use the CUA e-mail Webmail interface directly from your web browser.
