Voice Mail at CUA
Most faculty and staff telephones have an associated voice mail box where telephone messages can be received and sent.
New Voice Mail System
On 4 March 2008, the voice mail system at CUA was upgraded to a new AVST CallXpress system.
The new CallXpress system uses many of the same touch tone commands as did the previous Octel/VMX ("legacy") system. This means that if you were familiar with the old system, you will know how to do many functions in the new system without having to learn new commands. There are a few differences in the operation of the CallXpress system with which you will want to be familiar.
You access voice mail by dialing x4545.
How to Record your Greetings
The AVST CallXpress is an entirely new voice mail system. When you access the system for the first time, it prompts you to record your new greetings and a "name" for your mailbox.
The initial security code (password) to your mailbox was sent in a message titled "New CUA Voice Mail System" on 26 Feb 2008. If you no longer have this message, please call the computer Information Center at xHELP (x4357) for the code.
Where Are My Older Messages?
Your older voice mail messages remain on the old system. Now that the new system is live, the old system may be accessed by dialing x6288 until March 28. Please follow the system prompts to access your old mailbox, which retains your old security code (password).
