Using Technology for Teaching and Research
CPIT has a wide range of technology resources available for faculty and students to enhance the pedagogical environment. A partial list includes:
- Web-based learning management systems, with forums, chat, document libraries, and more (Sakai and Blackboard)
- Using Turnitin, an online plagiarism prevention system
- Laptops, projectors, audio systems, and other hardware for multimedia presentations.
- Web-based, customized data collection and collaboration
- Audio and video recording, web-based streaming, and archiving
- Conversion of existing media to electronic format or from one electronic format to another
- Advice and assistance in designing and delivering courses using technology
- Creation of customized software solutions
- Research and evaluation of third party hardware, software and services for pedagogical use
- Collaboration with other institutions and researchers on specific technologies or using technology for pedagogy
- Course-based or project-based email lists
- Shared file space for classes or collaborative projects
